Maintenance Worker
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of school buildings and grounds. This role involves both routine maintenance and addressing urgent repair needs to ensure a positive learning environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems.
- Conducting routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Assisting with groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, and general landscape upkeep.
- Responding to work orders and emergency calls promptly and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and school policies.
- Collaborating with other school staff and contractors as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in general maintenance, custodial work, or a related field.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry principles.
- Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of a background check.
