Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of school buildings and grounds. This role involves both routine maintenance and addressing urgent repair needs to ensure a positive learning environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems.
  • Conducting routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Assisting with groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, and general landscape upkeep.
  • Responding to work orders and emergency calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and school policies.
  • Collaborating with other school staff and contractors as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, custodial work, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry principles.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
